Oh, Anne

My best bud came to visit me. Both Anne and her husband Phil came to New Orleans to see my new home, my wonderful husband, and my precious child *(and me, duh!)). It was so cool to see the two of them interact with August. Watching them made me so excited about life, and about all of the changes I have had to endure being here in New Orleans. It was like they saw my new life, they saw my struggles, they saw me.

We went to Oak Alley Plantation. It was one of the best afternoons I have had in months... I was with three of my favorite people( other than August). We enjoyed our plantation tour, then were on our way taking funny pictures, posing, and embracing the scenery that so beautifully surrouned us.

I was truly blessed to spend time with my best friend and her husband... and my husband of course!!!! Friends are so special, so loving, so truthful, so real. I am truly blessed.

This Moment

The sun is shining. It's almost Spring. It is amazing how the warm sun can brighten your day and lift your spirit. I am excited for some reason as I sit in the grass with my son. He reaches and runs his little fingers over the clove-like pieces of grass. I dream of him getting grass stains in about a year or two. Ironic, I know, but the free spirit that lives within little children reminds me to relax, rest, and enjoy the moment.
I dream of him running, breathing, experiencing God's wonderful creation. I dream of him laughing, singing, exploring, and after all of that, searching for more adventures. I dream of teaching him right from wrong, and showing him the depth of God's love. It's no wonder why I am excited. The future is so uncertain, things that are unexpected come up, there is triumph and failure at times. But as I sit here, I am thankful for today. I am thankful that I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow or the day after. As I rest in this moment and embrace the growth that I've already experienced and see the growth in my little one, I see God.
